Powers of Minister

123 Minister may ask for statistical information

  (1) In this section, statistical information does not include information
about an identifiable individual.

  (2) The Minister may from time to time, by written notice to an authority,
require the authority to supply him or her with any statistical information
specified in the notice relating to the discharge of the functions of the
authority or of any of its committees, or to any matters connected with those
functions.

  (3) Any statistical information required by the Minister under this section
must be supplied within the time specified in the notice or within any extended
time the Minister allows, and must be supplied in the manner and form notified
to the authority concerned by the Minister.

  (4) The authority is not required by this section to supply information that
is not already in its possession.

  (5) If the Minister is satisfied that compliance with a requirement under
this section would involve an authority in monetary expense, the Minister must,
out
of money appropriated by Parliament, make a grant to the authority to enable it
to meet that expense.
