7: Miscellaneous provisions, consequential amendments and repeals, and transitional provisions

    180 Persons registered under Dental Act 1988 deemed to be registered under
this Act

  (1)  Every person who, immediately before the commencement of this section,
was registered as a dentist under the Dental Act 1988 (including a person who,
immediately before that commencement, was so registered by virtue of a
provisional certificate of registration or a certificate of temporary
registration under that Act) is, on the commencement of this
section, deemed to be registered, under this Act, with the new Dental Council
as a practitioner of the profession of dentistry.

  (2)  Every person who, immediately before the commencement of this section,
was registered as a clinical dental technician under the Dental Act 1988
(including
a person who, immediately before that commencement, was so registered by virtue
of a provisional certificate of registration or a certificate of temporary
registration under that Act) is, on the commencement of this
section, deemed to be registered, under this Act, with the new Dental Council
as a practitioner of the profession of clinical dental technology.

  (3)  Every person who, immediately before the commencement of this section,
was registered as a dental technician under the Dental Act 1988 (including a
person
who, immediately before that commencement, was so registered by virtue of a
provisional certificate of registration or a certificate of temporary
registration under that Act) is, on the commencement of this
section, deemed to be registered, under this Act, with the new Dental Council
as a practitioner of the profession of dental technology.
