    186 Persons registered under Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Act 1976
deemed to be registered under this Act

  (1)  Every person who, immediately before the commencement of this section,
was registered as an optometrist under the Optometrists and Dispensing
Opticians
Act 1976 (including a person who, immediately before that commencement, was so
registered by virtue of a provisional certificate of registration or a
certificate of temporary registration under that Act) is, on the commencement
of this
section, deemed to be registered, under this Act, with the Optometrists and
Dispensing Opticians Board as a practitioner of the profession of
optometry.

  (2)  Every person who, immediately before the commencement of this section,
was registered as a dispensing optician under the Optometrists and
Dispensing Opticians Act 1976 (including a person who, immediately before that
commencement, was so registered by virtue of a provisional certificate of
registration or a certificate of temporary registration under that Act) is, on
the commencement of this
section, deemed to be registered, under this Act, with the Optometrists and
Dispensing Opticians Board as a practitioner of the profession of optical
dispensing.
