Quality assurance activities

    52 Purpose of sections 54 to 63
The purpose of sections 54 to 63 is to encourage effective quality
assurance activities in relation to health services performed by health
practitioners by---

      (a)  protecting the confidentiality of---

          (i)     information that becomes known solely as a result of such
activities; and

          (ii)    documents brought into existence solely for the purposes of
such activities; and

      (b)  giving immunity from civil liability to persons who engage in such
activities in good faith.
