    65 Response to complaints referred by Health and Disability Commissioner

  (1)  When the Health and Disability Commissioner refers a complaint to the
responsible authority under section 34(1)(a) of the Health and Disability
Commissioner Act 1994, the authority must promptly assess the complaint and
consider, in light of the nature and circumstances of the complaint, the action
or actions that the authority should take to respond to the complaint.

  (2)  Without limiting the generality of subsection (1), the authority may
decide to refer the complaint to a professional conduct committee.
