4: Complaints and discipline

79   Professional conduct committee may recommend suspension of practitioner's practising certificate if public at risk

79 Professional conduct committee may recommend suspension of
practitioner's practising certificate if public at risk
If, at any time in the course of investigating a matter about a health
practitioner, a
professional conduct committee has reason to believe that the
practitioner's practice poses a risk of serious harm to the public, the
committee---

      (a) must immediately notify the responsible authority of that belief and
the reasons for it; and

      (b) if, in the opinion of the committee, those reasons justify the
suspension of the practitioner's practising certificate under section 39(2),
section 48(2), or section 69(2), may recommend that the authority take
appropriate action.
